Sunnah is a saying attributed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)(a hadith), namely “I have left among you two matters by holding fast to which, you shall never be misguided: the Book of God (Quran and my Sunnah).” It is an often quoted saying regarding the sources of Islam.

 

Hadith:

A collection of traditions containing sayings of the prophet Muhammad which, with accounts of his daily practice, constitute the major source of guidance for Muslims apart from the Quran. ‘You cannot justify your stand by any means in the light of the Quran and the Hadith in Islamic terminology, the term hadith refers to reports of statements or actions of Muhammad, or of his tacit approval or criticism of something said or done in his presence, though some sources, limit hadith to verbal reports, with the deeds of Muhammad and reports about his companions being part of the Sunnah not hadith.
